Terms & Conditions - Corporate

  • National Elevator Cab & Door Corp. (“National”) is not responsible for any item or feature not specifically mentioned in this proposal.

  • The pricing in this proposal is valid for (30) days.

  • Except if specifically stated in this proposal, the pricing will remain valid for material furnished up to (1) year from the issuance of an accepted order.  Any material or services furnished after (1) year is subject to escalation at no less than the increase in the consumer price index or the metals index, at National’s sole and reasonable discretion.

  • Shipment is included for all jobs within the New York-Newark-Jersey City MSA.  Shipments outside that area will be prepaid by National and freight costs added to the invoice unless alternate arrangements are made.  All shipments are FOB National’s loading dock.

  • National will not be responsible for any levies, taxes, duties, or other imposts applied by federal, state, or local governments on the sale or use of the products supplied.  If National does not receive a resale certificate or certificate of capital improvement with the purchase order or contract, National will add the appropriate sales tax to invoices.

  • The cost of tariffs or other imposts on the material or services required to produce this job that are not in place at the time of this proposal are not included.  All prices will be adjusted at National’s sole and reasonable discretion.

  • All orders require a 30% non-refundable payment (which may also be referred to as a “deposit”) at the time of order unless specifically stated in this proposal.  This deposit is non-refundable and can only be applied to the project for which is it made.  National will apply a pro-rated portion of such deposit to subsequent invoices for the project.

  • All products and services offered for sale by National are unique to each order and cannot be restocked or resold by National to other parties.  Orders are not cancellable unless specifically stated in this proposal.  If an order is cancelled, National reserves the right to charge and receive payment for the entire order, or a portion of it based on National’s sole and reasonable discretion of the amount of work performed, even if delivery of the products or services is not made or accepted.

  • Unless other arrangements are made in advance of placement of an order, payment terms are net 30 days.  Accounts that are paid late will be subject to interest at the maximum rate allowed by law.  The customer will be responsible to make National whole for any cost to collect late payments, including but not limited to attorney’s fees, court costs, and collection agency costs and fees.

  • National provides a limited warranty of one year, except when components manufactured by others have an OEM warranty of less than one year.  This warranty is to cover defects in manufacturing and excludes wear and tear.

  • All products should be carefully inspected upon delivery.  If any products are found to be defective, National shall be given a reasonable opportunity to cure said defect, which may be to repair or replace that product in a reasonably expedited manner, by means and methods chosen by National.  National will not be responsible for any other work or costs, including but not limited to labor by others.

  • Any order that is placed for the material or services described in this proposal (whether identical or materially similar) shall be deemed an acceptance of National’s terms and conditions.  If any part of any of these terms and conditions shall be found invalid, that shall not affect the validity of the remainder of that, and all other, terms and conditions.

Terms & Conditions - All Products

  • National’s manufacturing standards apply to all materials unless specifically stated in this proposal.

  • All dimensions are subject to normal fabrication and installation tolerances.  National will not be responsible for any installation issues or delays due to jobsite conditions.

  • All orders require a 30% non-refundable payment (which may also be referred to as a “deposit”) at the time of order unless specifically stated in this proposal.  See National’s “Terms and Conditions” for more details.

  • National is not responsible for any damage to any material once it leaves the factory.  Please inspect all material carefully upon delivery.

  • Installation is not included unless specifically stated in this proposal.

  • This proposal does not include: Removal or reinstallation of cab doors, sills, contact switches, or other elevator equipment; Filing fees; Load and balance tests; Counterweight adjustments; Electrical hookups (except for factory wiring of cab light fixtures).

Terms & Conditions - New Cabs

  • The following items are not included in this proposal unless specifically stated in this proposal: Pads and pad buttons or hooks; Emergency lighting; Flooring; Safety mirrors

  • All car fixtures, buttons, and Braille tags are to be provided by others unless specifically stated in this proposal.

  • For cars with swing front returns, the car operating panel(s) are to be provided with all buttons, signals, fixtures, and Braille tags mounted on sub-plates to National’s factory for attachment to the swing return.

  • The field hookup of lighting, car operating panels, or other electrical equipment is performed by others at no cost to National.

  • National will use industry standard noise abatement techniques for all cab shells but does not make any claim or guarantee for noise reduction levels or absolute noise levels.

  • Products described as having a painted or powder coat finish (including primer) are sold with one color selected from National’s current standard color chart.  The finishing material used may be baked enamel or powder coat at National’s exclusive discretion.

  • Custom colors or specified manufacturer’s paints, including liquid paints, or multiple color selections, will be subject to additional costs and extended delivery times unless specifically stated in this proposal.

Terms & Conditions - Remodeled Cabs

  • The following items are not included in this proposal unless specifically stated in this proposal: Pads and pad buttons or hooks; Emergency lighting; Flooring; Safety mirrors

  • All car fixtures, buttons, and Braille tags are to be provided by others unless specifically stated in this proposal.

  • For cars with swing front returns, the car operating panel(s) are to be provided with all buttons, signals, fixtures, and Braille tags mounted on sub-plates to National’s factory for attachment to the swing return.

  • National will provide union-affiliated cab modernization field crews to install cab remodeling packages.  Other personnel, including elevator mechanics, is supplied by other parties at no cost to National.

  • The worksite shall be made available for National’s work on an uninterrupted full-time basis during normal business hours unless specifically stated in this proposal.  Unplanned interruptions of access to the worksite, partial shifts, and off-hours work will be subject to additional costs as reasonably determined by National.

  • National does not make any claim or guarantee for noise reduction levels or absolute noise levels.

  • The field hookup of lighting, car operating panels, or other electrical equipment is performed by others at no cost to National.

Terms & Conditions - Entrances and Doors

  • Unless specifically stated in this proposal, each entrance is supplied with:

    • Two standard applied Braille floor designation plates for jambs (brushed stainless steel on black background) unless specifically stated in this proposal.  Combined floor and car designation plates, EMS/stretcher service, and other signs for jambs are not included.

    • A round emergency keyhole in one door panel with an insertable escutcheon (black plastic for painted doors, matching metal for stainless or bronze doors).

    • One piece of fascia up to 36” in height and hangar covers (if needed), and one dust cover/toe guard combination per elevator.  Fascia for extended floor heights, and blind fascia for skipped floors, is available at additional cost.

    • If required, a cutout and mounting studs for floors with hoistway access switches mounted in the jambs at terminal landings, but no other cutouts.

    • Two guides (with nylon inserts) and one fire gib per door panel.

    • All hardware needed to assemble the components of the entrance together.

  • Products described as having a painted or powder coat finish (including primer) are sold with one color selected from National’s current standard color chart.  The finishing material used may be baked enamel or powder coat at National’s exclusive discretion.

  • Custom colors or specified manufacturer’s paints, including liquid paints, or multiple color selections, will be subject to additional costs and extended delivery times unless specifically stated in this proposal.

  • Painted entrances (excluding those with a prime finish) and other unlacquered entrances will come covered with paper or vinyl to protect the finish during shipment.  This protection is not intended for long-term use after the entrances are delivered.  Lacquered entrances (such as bronze or oxidized stainless) will come covered with paper to protect the finish during shipment.  This protection must be removed before installation.

  • Entrances will be designed for installation in a concrete recess or on a sill support angle (supplied by others).  Sill support angles or continuous struts (National’s tower system) are not included unless specifically stated in this proposal.

  • This proposal is based on a jamb depth of up to 6”.  Jambs have a square 2” profile with a ¾” backbend to the wall.

  • The prices in this proposal are based on door operating equipment currently in production.  For equipment no longer made by the OEM, additional engineering and fabrication charges may apply.
